Mobile Diesel Technician

Stanley’s Mobile Service is growing, and we’re looking for a dependable, mechanically skilled Mobile Diesel Technician to join our team serving the Raleigh-Durham area.

If you have experience working on diesel trucks, heavy equipment, automotive vehicles, fleet vehicles, buses, or other diesel-powered equipment , we want to talk to you.

You do NOT need to know everything about buses to be successful in this position. We have more than 35 years of hands-on industry experience and are willing to train the right technician who has strong mechanical ability, good troubleshooting skills, a strong work ethic, and a desire to learn.

What You'll Do

As a Mobile Diesel Technician, you will travel throughout the Raleigh-Durham area in a company service truck to diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of vehicles and equipment.

Responsibilities may include:

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on diesel-powered vehicles and equipment
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and drivability problems
• Troubleshoot diesel engines and drivetrain systems
• Perform repairs involving brakes, suspension, steering, and related systems
• Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic systems
• Work with air brake and air system components
• Diagnose and service HVAC and other vehicle systems
• Perform inspections and identify potential maintenance issues
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding repairs and service needs
• Document completed repairs and service work
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe service truck and work area
• Travel to customer locations throughout the Raleigh-Durham area
• Continue developing technical skills through hands-on training and experience

Vehicles & Systems You'll Work On

Our technicians work with a variety of commercial and recreational vehicles, including:

• Transit buses
• Shuttle buses
• Motorcoaches
• RVs and RV buses
• Diesel trucks and vehicles
• Fleet vehicles

You may work with:

• Diesel engines
• Drivetrains
• Electrical and diagnostic systems
• Air brakes
• Suspension systems
• HVAC systems
• Vehicle electrical systems
• Other bus and fleet systems

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a technician who is reliable, mechanically capable, and willing to learn .

Required:

• Previous experience in diesel repair, heavy equipment, automotive repair, fleet maintenance, or a related mechanical field
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems
• Ability to work independently in the field
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
• Professional communication and customer-service skills
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to safely operate and work from a mobile service truck
• Ability to use basic hand and diagnostic tools

Preferred:

Experience with any of the following is a plus:

• Diesel engines
• Commercial trucks

• Electrical diagnostics
• Air brake systems
• HVAC systems
• Preventative maintenance
• Computerized diagnostic equipment

Don't have bus experience? That's okay.

If you have a strong background in diesel, trucks, heavy equipment, automotive, or fleet maintenance, we can teach you the specialized bus systems.
